American Heart Association Course Description & Pricing

BLENDED LEARNING (ONLINE OPTIONS)

Blended Learning courses include an online portion and a hands-on session. The online portion provides the flexibility of completing training at your own pace, either at work, home, or wherever you have Internet access. The hands-on portion includes a skills practice and testing session conducted in-person with an AHA BLS or Heartsaver Instructor. Online Course fees are determined by the AHA product distributor and are subject to change.


Heartsaver® CPR AED ONLINE HYBRID

Online Course Length: 2 hours

Online Course Fee: $15.00

Onsite Testing Length: 1.5 hours

Onsite Testing Fee: $50.00

This is an online-based course that teaches adult and child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, and how to relieve choking in adults, children, and infants. The onsite skills portion of the course teaches skills with the AHA’s research-proven practice-while-watching technique, which allows instructors to observe the students, provide feedback, and guide the students’ learning of skills. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Course Content: Adult CPR and AED use, opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies, child CPR and AED use, infant CPR, adult/child/infant choking.


Heartsaver® First Aid ONLINE HYBRID

Online Course Length: 3.5 hours

Online Course Fee: $15.00

Onsite Testing Length: 1.5 hours

Onsite Testing Fee: $50.00

This is an online-based course that teaches students critical skills to respond to and manage an emergency in the first few minutes until emergency medical services arrive. Students learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke. The onsite skills portion of the course teaches skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in first aid to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Course Content: First aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, preventing illness and injury.


Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED ONLINE HYBRID

Online Course Length: 4 hours

Online Course Fee: $19.50

Onsite Testing Length: 1.5 – 3 hours

Onsite Testing Fee: $60.00

This is an online-based course that teaches students critical skills needed to respond to and manage an emergency until emergency medical services arrive. The onsite skills portion of the course teaches first aid skills; choking relief in adults, children, and infants; and what to do for sudden cardiac arrest in adults, children, and infants. This course is for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card in CPR and AED use to meet job, regulatory, or other requirements.

Course Content: First aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, preventing illness and injury, adult CPR and AED use, opioid-associated life threatening emergencies, child CPR and AED use, infant CPR.


Heartsaver® Pediatric First Aid CPR AED ONLINE HYBRID

Online Course Length: 2.5 hours

Online Course Fee: $20.00

Onsite Testing Length: 1.5 – 3 hours

Onsite Testing Fee: $60.00

This online course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches childcare providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Typical audience: Childcare workers, teachers, foster care workers, camp counselors, youth organizations, coaches, parents, grandparents, babysitters, etc.

Course Content: Controlling bleeding, bandaging, using a tourniquet, shock, internal bleeding, burns and electrical injuries, allergic reactions, using an epinephrine pen, breathing problems, dehydration, diabetes and low blood sugar, heat-related emergencies, cold-related emergencies, drowning, amputations, bites and stings, broken bones and sprains, eye injuries, bleeding from the nose, fainting, head/neck/spine injuries, penetrating and puncturing injuries, poisoning, seizure, mouth and cheek injuries, tooth injuries, splinters, CPR and AED use for adults, children and infants, choking for adults, children and infants. The onsite skills portion of the course will focus on the required hands on experience required of the course.


HeartCode® BLS ONLINE HYBRID

Online Course Length: 1.5 hours

Online Course Fee: $31.00

Onsite Testing Length: 1.5 – 3 hours

Onsite Testing Fee: $50.00

Through a variety of eLearning assets such as dramatizations, eSimulations, animations, self-directed learning, and interactive activities, this course teaches students BLS knowledge and skills.

Course Content: High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants, AHA Chain of Survival – specifically the BLS components, use of an AED, effective ventilations using a barrier device, importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member, relief of foreign-body airway obstruction.


CPR and AED Awareness

Fee: Free

Onsite Length: dependent on the amount of participants

Participants will learn the techniques of continuous compression resuscitation and how to apply and use and AED.

This is not a certification class, rather only a very brief explanation and outreach of the concepts of resuscitation.

Stop the Bleed

Minutes count! Someone who is severely bleeding can bleed to death in as little as 5 minutes. That’s why bleeding control—keeping the blood inside the body—is the purpose of STOP THE BLEED® training.

Participants attending this class will learn the fundamentals of wound care and bleeding control ranging from simple direct pressure up to the usage of a tourniquet and the other techniques in between. There is a video component to this course, as well as significant hands on training using training aids that will help educate and prepare you to act when yourself or someone else is having a bleeding event.

This course is free for all participants to attend.

Fire Extinguisher Training

The program has two different sections:

  1. The classroom presentation
  2. The “hands on” training

Some of the topics that are covered during the training are:

This program can be presented to age groups from 12 on up. We can come to your facility or we can host it at the fire station.
