The Oregon Area Fire/EMS District (OAFED) has released its 2024 Annual Report, providing a detailed look at its operational achievements, community impact, and future plans. Covering a 45-square-mile district with over 19,000 residents, the department responded to just under 1,900 calls last year, with 1,285 EMS responses and 512 fire-related incidents. Notably, 2024 marked the first full year of providing Paramedic-level services, including 35 Paramedic intercepts for neighboring communities—a significant step in expanding advanced care access across the region.

The report also highlights the department’s efforts in community risk reduction, with over 14,000 public contacts, 752 fire inspections, and participation in more than 20 outreach events, from school drills to regional festivals. Training remains a core focus, with over 9,100 hours completed across fire, EMS, hazmat, and rescue operations. The department also invested in capital improvements, including the replacement of Squad 6 with a refurbished 2005 E-One rescue vehicle.

Looking ahead, OAFED continues planning for a new fire station to accommodate growing service demands, larger apparatus, and increased staffing. A Request for Proposals for a space needs analysis is ongoing, with long-term goals that include expanded facilities, sustainability initiatives, and enhanced operational readiness. The full report is available here, offering residents and stakeholders a comprehensive view of the district’s dedication to safety, service, and strategic growth.
